Privacy Policy

This privacy statement covers our web site at

If users have questions or concerns regarding this statement, they should contact us by e-mail, telephone, fax, or postal mail. Our Privacy Administrator will respond to all inquiries in a timely manner.

Great-incorporated is the sole owner of the information collected on the web site. We collect information from our users at several different points on our Web site.

Information Collected on Order Forms:

We request information from the user on our order form. A user must provide contact information (such as name, e-mail, and shipping address) and financial information (such as credit card number, expiration date). This information is used for billing purposes and to fill customer's orders. If we have trouble processing an order, the information is used to contact the user. Once in a while, we may send you an e-mail message advising you of new products or services on our web site. Every message will contain opt-out information, and you may choose to opt-out of these mailings at any time.

Use of Cookies:

A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's computer tied to information about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. We use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. For the session ID cookie, once users close the browser, the cookie simply terminates. A persistent cookie is a small text file stored on the user's hard drive for an extended period of time. Persistent cookies can be removed by following Internet browser help file directions.

By setting a cookie on our site, users can browse and add items to the shopping cart without losing them. If users reject the cookie, they will not be able to order from our site. Persistent cookies enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our site. Our persistent cookies do not include any personally identifiable information about our users.

Great Incorporated Newsletter:

If a user wishes to subscribe to our newsletter, we ask for contact information such as name and e-mail address. Out of respect for our users' privacy, each newsletter includes a way to opt-out of these communications. [Please see the Choice and Opt-Out sections] We use an outside service to manage our e-mail lists, but your information is kept private. Great-incorporated does NOT sell, rent, trade or otherwise share our customer lists.

On rare occasions it is necessary to send out a strictly service related announcement. For instance, if our site is temporarily suspended for maintenance we might send users an e-mail. Generally, users may not opt-out of these communications, though they can deactivate their account. However, these communications are not promotional in nature.

Customer Service:

We communicate with users on a regular basis to provide requested services and in regard to issues relating to their account we reply via e-mail or phone, in accordance with the users wishes.

Legal Disclaimer:

Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law wherein we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our Web site.

Third Party Intermediaries:

We use a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. This company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

As mentioned above, we use an e-mail management service to maintain our e-mail newsletter lists. This company does not retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes.

Business Transitions:

In the event Great-incorporated goes through a business transition, such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of substantial assets, users' personal information will, in most instances, be part of the assets transferred. Users will be notified via e-mail prior to a change of ownership or control of their personal information. If, as a result of the business transition, the users' personally identifiable information will be used in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, they will be notified and offered a choice consistent with the "Notification of Changes" section of this Privacy Statement.

Our users are given the opportunity to opt-out of having their information used for purposes not directly related to our site at the point where we ask for information. For example, our order form has an opt-out mechanism so users who buy a product from us, but do not want any marketing material, can keep their e-mail address off of our lists.

We hate spam, so we refuse to be part of the problem. We are very careful to send newsletters and other promotional information sparingly, so you are not overwhelmed. Users who no longer wish to receive our newsletter and promotional communications may opt-out of receiving these communications by replying to unsubscribe in the subject line in the e-mail . We also offer an opt-out mechanism at the bottom of each e-mail message.

Users of our site are always notified when their information is being collected by any outside parties. We do this so our users can make an informed choice as to whether or not they should proceed with services that require an outside party.

To provide credit card security and keep your personal information safe, we use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology which is the most widely used data encryption coding system for secure e-commerce transactions. All customer information is encrypted (scrambled) prior to being sent over the Internet to our secure payment gateway system. Your payment information is safe and inaccessible to other Internet users. If your browser doesn't accept the SSL technology, transactions will not be permitted. To confirm that your connection is secure, look for a locked padlock icon or solid key icon at the bottom of your browser window. The letters "https" (rather than "http") located in the URL address window at the top of your browser also indicates that you are using a secure browser.
